Note: finally, fglrx latest supports 2.6.31, that's the 9-10 release.

Added support for systems that use the new no xorg.conf method, sgfxi when it detects this, will offer to construct one using the X -configure command.
This should do it for now in terms of that support, but we'll see how X evolves over time. Back to top |

New nvidia stable, same as pre-release: 190.42
See above for release notes. I missed this one, it went stable 10 days ago I guess from pre-release status. Back to top |

Added 2.6.32 support for fglrx 9-10, damentz says it works, users confirm this.
Added in legacy 1 xorg 1.6 and greater error case, it doesn't support it. Back to top |

nvidia legacy driver update, both now support xorg 1.7. These are actually prerelease drivers, but because they offer new functionality I'm making them stable current right away.

New option: -z
-z will mv your xorg.conf file, if present, to a time stamped /etc/X11/xorg.conf-full-<date/time> then run the rebuild xorg.conf function, which just asks if you want to make a new one with the command X -configure This should help with corrupted xorg.conf files in some cases, we'll see. Early testing: ubuntu support for sgfxi.
This will take a lot more cleanup and fine tuning, but for now: nvidia: works in my test: sgfxi -! 1 -c fglrx: works with deb builder but not direct install: sgfxi -! 1 -F fglrx direct binary install does not work in my tests so far, it probably needs something else added. These are only tested on two systems so far, but both seem to work. To override the ubuntu failure test, start sgfxi with: sgfxi -! 1 plus whatever other arguments. :: Code :: inxi -d
