i also had all the problems that you said.
I have no problem with my track pad or mouse as said in the other thread techpatterns.com/forums/about1750.html
I switched to pclinux os and debian testing in dual boot. NO problems there.

Also about the XPS15...well it has no problem with the kernel what so ever.
