I'm using 2.6.37-1.dmz.2-liquorix-686 in my Dell Inspiron 1317 laptop which has 4G RAM but for some other reasons i am running a 32Bit distro-linuxmint 10.

After 20-30 mins the keyboaed freezes. keystrokes are irregular and erratic. Some letters do get down. When i try to type the screen flickers too.

I donot have any such problem with the default kernel used in the distro 2.6.35-22-generic or the older liquorix kernel 2.6.36 from which i upgraded.

Also during boot a error message is displayed (i googled and found that it is displayed in all systems without hardware encryption/decryption...whatever that is) .but continues to boot successfully. Plymouth is garbled. (i dont mind these but i thought you should know).

All other devices are working as intended. I have no problem with my mouse (trackpad and usb mouse) during these freezes.

i just installed the distro yesterday and the kernel today (24th Feb).

In the worst case i'll like to revert back to the 2.6.36 version of the kernel but i noticed that it disappeared from synaptic. How do i get it back?.

thanks for any help.

please make sure to post technical details, like what OS you are using when posting issue reports, otherwise people have to ask.

A good way is to install inxi, then show: inxi -F
output, that will show pretty much all the user information required.

This could be a USB bug too. I'll be uploading 2.6.37-2.dmz.1 which reverts some bad patches from 2.6.37.1.

Had another freeze on the latest kernel 2.6.37-2.dmz.1-liquorix just now. Older version is fine though.
There should be some system log or crash report or something.
The thing is,how do i access that?
so that i can post it here.

I removed whatever could be causing freezes for my last few revisions. If you're still having freezes then I can't help if there's no kernel oops to give me a hint of what might be causing it.

Running dmesg might help or give you early indications of something wrong.

I am also getting this on a dell N5030 but ONLY after the machine wakes back up from a suspend. Some keystrokes are lost and some register and the screen flashes repeatedly as I type. The only thing I can do is reboot, which means that the suspend function is effectively useless :(
