the error on nvidia install is because the patches that are supposed to be working keep not working.

sgfxi has nothing to do with your boot screen resolution, you have to set grub to use what you want it to use, look in our grub forums for examples.

I'm not getting adequate issue reports, since you have 7xxx card it needs the 304 series driver, and all the patches I am finding keep returning failure on install though the patches themselves work, so you guys are going to need to find me patches that actually work, usually stuff from gentoo is the best but in this case it seems not.
