h2's right, it was an error to choose gcc 4.6 to build the 2.6.39 kernel series. I'll push an updated package that depends on gcc 4.5 soon.

@sandra,

If it was working before, then try again, using an older version of liquorix.
The newer kernels require newer version of gcc, etal.

I couldn't install the 2.37 version in squeeze yesterday,
but the 2.36.x version installs fine.

?

The updated packages are already pushed to the repository, you should be able to install them without any dependency conflicts.

And 2.37 / 2.36.x.... I don't know how to respond to those numbers.

Sorry, I was just generalizing.
The 2.6.36.x from smxi installed for me.
I was just suggesting to Sandra that she try again
with a lower numbered Liquorix kernel.

My apologies for any misunderstanding.
No intention to upset anyone.

I'll try the 2.6.37.x kernel suggested by smxi later today.
I don't know the exact number but I will when I run smxi.

The smxi kernel zips offered in the alternate kernel install section are generally the last past branch kernel damentz has made for that series.

It's not necessarily the last past version of that kernel however, since damentz doesn't always make new ones to keep up with updates on the previous major version, nor do I expect that, it's tedious.

But overall the zip kernels in smxi are relatively late in the major version series as a rule, it says which ones so no need to speculate.

However, smxi does not, nor will it ever, support ubuntu or ubuntu derived distros. That will never happen unless I get paid hard cash to follow ubuntu, real money, as in a salary. Debian I do for free because I like and use debian.

However, you can always install from liquorix past branch by just adding 'past' to the deb sources line, then doing apt-get update, then checking for the kernel you want and install the linux-image and linux-headers for that. Make sure to install both, they have to match for anything that will need the headers, like non free drivers, virtual machines or any other thing that needs to build a kernel module.
