techAdmin,

After two tries with sgfxi, I finally was able to run Linux debian 2.6.38-1.dmz.1-liquorix-686 #1 ZEN SMP PREEMPT Fri Mar 25 00:57:00 UTC 2011 i686 GNU/Linux with nvidia.

Thanks, now how do I mark this as solved? Might help a lot of people with the same problem as me.

Thanks,
Dodjie60 (60 as in I was born in 1960 making me 51 years old with a bleeding edge operating system)

Hello,

Installed 2.6.38-1.dmz.1-liquorix-686 and Nvidia failed.

Can anybody give me some help with this one. Nvidia problem without this kernel.

nvidia-kernel-2.6.37-4.dmz.1-liquorix-686 is installed in conjunction to:

"dodjiel@debian:~$ uname -a
Linux debian 2.6.37-4.dmz.1-liquorix-686 #1 ZEN SMP PREEMPT Tue Mar 15 01:22:21 UTC 2011 i686 GNU/Linux"

without problem.

I'm totally new to linux.

By the way, the new inxi shows what driver or drivers are being used by Xorg, and also shows drivers that were unloaded, ie, which were loaded but then not used and unloaded, and also drivers that have failed.

:: Code ::
inxi -G
Graphics: Card: nVidia G86 [GeForce 8400 GS] X.Org 1.7.7 driver loaded: nvidia Resolution 2560x1024@50.0hz
[20:05] <h2>           GLX Renderer GeForce 8400 GS/PCI/SSE2/3DNOW! GLX Version 3.3.0 NVIDIA 275.09

In this case only one driver was loaded and is being used.
