Testing for 190.53 and 195.xx
patches added: sgfxi -! 6 to override and run patches for kernel 2.6.32 and 33 let me know if the patches work. I have no idea if these patches will break systems that don't require them though, have to get some more data. Back to top |
Give me 10 mins or so and I'll test out.
For the record, people using sgfxi on straight MEPIS with the latest MEPIS kernel upgrade 2.6.32-7 report sgfxi working flawlessly. Back to top |

I suspect that both antix and arch share something that is as of yet unknown.
The patch works on arch, but installer completes but exits with an unrelated error, but driver works on x restart. do this: ls -lR /usr/src/linux-header* | grep 'generated/' and post any output. Back to top |
Debian 2.6.32-5-trunk-686 fails.
where are you getting this kernel from, or is that a typo, all I see is: linux-image-2.6.32-trunk-686 Back to top |
Yes, the Debian one is 2.6.32-trunk-686 (which is ..32-5).
I really don't think it is a sgfxi problem to be honest. I'll try your idea in your previous post Back to top |
I tested the new debian in sid/sidux and nvidia installed fine.

I think i may have found the problem at least in antiX. (maybe in Arch)
The (correct) linux-kbuild app must be installed before the headers for the distro. This is what I have done. Remove linux-kbuild which removes all linux-headers. Install linux-kbuild Install linux-headers for distro. Run sgfxi -cB Works fine (so far) So, as I thought (though not in my first post), sgfxi is NOT the problem, but it seems linux-kbuild is. This did not use to be the case in antiX. Whether kbuild came from MEPIS or Debian made no difference when running sgfxi and upgrades did not cause any problems either. Hope this hasn't been a waste of your time h2. Still maybe that randomness will hit me when I wake up in the morning :) Good night. Back to top |
