Does anyone have any opinoins of Beyond Micro hard dirves?

They offer a 1TB unit. It's a terrific price on Newegg but I'm wondering about reliability since the price is so good.

You are right to be worried about quality.

I never buy anything but seagate anymore, for one very simple reason:

They guarantee their drives for 5 years.

Any other company can make any claim they want about their drive quality, but if they can't match this warranty that is an open admission that their drives... well, that their drives cannot profitably be warrantied for 5 years. In other words, they die after 3 years at a rate too statistically high to enable the company to give a 5 year warranty.
