My CD burner isn't working, it won't open, it got stuck a while ago and it doesn't seem like it's working at all any more.

Try to get it open like this: most cd rom players and cd burners have a small little hole under the main tray that goes in and out, about the size of the thickness of a paper clip. Get a paperclip, straighten it out, then poke it firmly into the hole, if you found it (not all players have those, it's a mechanical release for the cd tray, it works if your computer is off or on), see if that opens it.

Thanks for your reply, no, it doesn't have a little hole anywhere that I can see, what should I do now? When I turn on the computer I don't see the light that is usually on, the little green one.

Try checking the connections in the back, open the computer, after unplugging it and turning it off, then unplug the white plastic power connection from the cd burner (unplug it by holding onto the white plastic, not by pulling on the wires, or you might break the wiring), then plug it back in, push it in very firmly, wiggle it around a little, do the same with the ribbon connector. When you are sure that you have pushed both in and that they are both firmly set, plug your computer back in, turn it on, and see if the cd burner light is on.

What brand of Cd burner is it, anyway?
