Occasional system freeze after move window on Plasma KDE+Wayland
Hi Damentz,
I wanted to inform you that sometimes, if I try to move a window on the graphical desktop (plasma kde + wayland), the screen freezes and from that moment I can't use mouse/keyboard, even if the server is still available by accessing via ssh. After rebooting the server remotely I went to look at the journal to find traces of this problem, finding several messages of type: kwin_wayland_wrapper[nnnn]: kwin_wayland_drm: Pageflip timed out! This is a kernel bug which I don't remember appearing previously. I found various links that deal with this problem, for example: bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=493277 gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/i915/kernel/-/issues/12341 bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=2191514#p2191514 bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=492506 gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/i915/kernel/-/issues/10547 invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/-/merge_requests/6650 This problem is occasional and has been happening for a few months now, although I have not yet been able to figure out if the problem is due to the graphical desktop or if it is actually a kernel error (as the log indicates), and how to fix it. Thanks, Antonio --- Operating System: Debian GNU/Linux 12 KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.7.0 Qt Version: 6.7.2 Kernel Version: 6.12.1-1-liquorix-amd64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 24 × 12th Gen Intel® Core™ i9-12900T Memory: 31.1 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® UHD Graphics 770 Manufacturer: ASUS Back to top |
