Possible feature to improve WIFI throughput on Liquorix kernels
Is TFD_QUEUE_SIZE_MAX a kernel compile option? If so, is the default still 256 (packets)?
This is an old (2010) article I found, but likely still applicable pertaining to TCP buffer-bloat on WIFI (in this particular case the iwlwifi driver) and a possible tweak to improve. See the comment section, under "Nathaniel Smith Says:" about either reducing TFD_QUEUE_SIZE_MAX or tweaking (patching) the driver itself to lower the ring-buffer size (as it appears to be hardcoded based on TFD_QUEUE_SIZE_MAX. Anything we can do to reduce buffer-bloat should be a benefit to desktop users. I don't think mainline has addressed this, could Liquorix? gettys.wordpress.com/2010/12/02/home-router-puzzle-piece-two-fun-with-wireless/ Thanks for your consideration, Jim Back to top |
