Hi, was AUFS removed intentionally in 4.1?

:: Code ::
$ diff /boot/config-4.0-6.dmz.1-liquorix-amd64 /boot/config-4.1-1.dmz.2-liquorix-amd64 | grep AUFS
< CONFIG_AUFS_FS=m
< CONFIG_AUFS_BRANCH_MAX_127=y
< # CONFIG_AUFS_BRANCH_MAX_511 is not set
< # CONFIG_AUFS_BRANCH_MAX_1023 is not set
< # CONFIG_AUFS_BRANCH_MAX_32767 is not set
< CONFIG_AUFS_SBILIST=y
< # CONFIG_AUFS_HNOTIFY is not set
< # CONFIG_AUFS_EXPORT is not set
< CONFIG_AUFS_XATTR=y
< CONFIG_AUFS_FHSM=y
< # CONFIG_AUFS_RDU is not set
< # CONFIG_AUFS_SHWH is not set
< # CONFIG_AUFS_BR_RAMFS is not set
< CONFIG_AUFS_BR_FUSE=y
< CONFIG_AUFS_POLL=y
< CONFIG_AUFS_BR_HFSPLUS=y
< CONFIG_AUFS_BDEV_LOOP=y
< # CONFIG_AUFS_DEBUG is not set

Thanks! Jonathan

Hi kung-foo, AUFS is just not ready for v4.1 (as far as I know). If you need AUFS for any reason, you'll need to look at the 4.0 for now.

EDIT: After some more research it seems that I'm wrong. The AUFS developer(s) abandoned their aufs3 git repository and continued their work elsewhere. I'll try getting AUFS into the kernel by the next package update.

No problem. I switched docker to use OverlayFS.

Are you merging from https://github.com/sfjro/aufs4-linux/tree/aufs4.1 ?

Information on the AUFS sources are in the patch applied to the Zen Kernel sources: github.com/zen-kernel/zen-kernel/commit/b3f56342cb198260029b7d51b98953324a7b1099

Also, linux-liquorix (4.1-3) was released yesterday evening with AUFS. You can check the atom changelog here: liquorix.net/atom
