hi,

i currently run xubuntu 12.10 with liquorix kernel 3.8.8-1. would it be possible to upgrade via the update-gui to 13.04 without messing it all up? would the 13.04 kernel replace the current liquorix-kernel and i'd have to reinstall liqourix again? whats going to happen? :D :Z

best regards

To be safe, you could simply boot your default ubuntu-kernel and do the dist-upgrade. If everything is fine with your newbuntu, boot the liquorix kernel, again.

AFAIK, additional entries in sources.list do survive. If not, simply add the liquorix stuff, again...

i currently run xubuntu 12.10 with liquorix kernel 3.8.8-1.

Same config here. I used to have an additional 3.5 liquorix kernel in my grub and used the xorg-edgers ppa.
System is EFI with seperate /boot / and /home partitions.

After upgrade to 13.04 I was kicked to the grup rescue prompt.
Some unsuccessful grub-fiddling later I booted up a 13.04 stick and used the boot-repair app with the recommended repair.
I just worked and booted the 3.8 liquorix.

I think, the common chroot-method would work, too.

But boot-repair was more convenient ;)

Other observations:
- Have to reactivate some additional ppa.
- Have to reinstall laptop-mode-tools
- additional kernel Liq 3.5 was lost
