When I try to boot my desktop with the 3.8-5.dmz.1 kernel, the boot process locks up, and the final messages are
:: Code ::
[drm] radeon kernel modesetting enabled
fb: conflicting fb hw usage radeondrmfb vs EFI VGA - removing generic driver

The machine boots without issue with 3.7.0-10.dmz.2 . From the running kernel, the same line shows up in my dmesg output, so I presume the 3.7 kernel is also removing the VGA framebuffer, but doing so without locking up.

Any idea what could be going wrong with the new kernel?

I found an fd.o bug with what appears to be the same issue, with an attached patch. bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62976

Thanks for doing the research, I'll add this to zen and throw it into the next Liquorix kernel package.
