Time for the next 'universal' id file, after I guess /etc/lsb-release failed to catch on universally.

So now it's time to collect realworld data on the contents of /etc/os-release, please note your actual distro and branch when pasting it in here.

I'll start, up to date, Debian Sid (but originally kanotix->sidux):

:: Code ::
cat /etc/os-release
PRETTY_NAME="Debian GNU/Linux wheezy/sid"
NAME="Debian GNU/Linux"
ID=debian
ANSI_COLOR="1;31"

Here you'll note that no derived distro is present. Not sure what siduction, sidux, antix, and so on, will show, so that's what I want.

We need to collect as many distro output files as possible to know which distros to use this file as default and which not to.

hi

I am assuming you are really interested in inxi on hard drive install distros but offer the following trivia. Liqourix iso and tails iso......are both based on debian stable live cd remasters. None have your file.

AFAIK what they have is

/etc/debian_version whose contents is
6.0.4 (or similar number)

tails is mentioned as its a distro from Linux format magazine
tails.boum.org/about/index.en.html
has no inxi AFAIK

while Liquorix is a project by me, to show you how to remaster debian live cd
techpatterns.com/forums/about2033.html
and already has inxi built into it
but I have not upped the kernel version due to laziness etc

My siduction is the same as rumbarg's.

Here is my Fedora:

NAME=Fedora
VERSION="17 (Beefy Miracle)"
ID=fedora
VERSION_ID=17
PRETTY_NAME="Fedora 17 (Beefy Miracle)"
ANSI_COLOR="0;34"
CPE_NAME="cpe:/o:fedoraproject:fedora:17"

There is no /etc/os-release in Fedora 16.
