You can't link to a php file remotely because it executes and only shows the output.

That's why the download is in .txt format.

The download url never changes however, so you just grab it and save it then update the script.

I also try to never break the script release to release for users, so that they can just drop it into their programming.

Now and then there are small changes that might require updates to other programming, but they are rare, and are always noted on the script download page release notes.
