We finally got around to getting rid of all that extra default phbBB junk, those ugly buttons, etc. Now the forums are much closer to the style we like, clean, no extraneous images, no images where text works as well or better.

We also cut out some extra html from the main forum templates, more cuts will be coming, this HTML is really poorly written, to put it mildly, and very bloated, for the view topic pages we're thinking about switching them all the way over, or at least mostly over, to div based pages, same basic layout though.

This was prompted by looking at some other fora, like searchenginewatch.com that are so ridiculously bloated with junk graphics, and use a really bad, almost unreadable, format, poster information on top of each and every post, breaks up totally the page flow [hey guys, you know you can float those...] but the way we figure it, we hate extra junk on forums [notice no avatars etc], and maybe there are some other people out there who do too.

Anyway, really happy with the job the phpBB team have done, this stuff is very easy to work with, it's readable, has coherent logic, and is easy to modify, nice going.
