Hi!

I use liquorix kernel for music production and I'm quite happy with it.

A small thing however :
I have to anable threadirqs manually at every kernel update. It's not the biggest of a deal, but I was wondering : why isn't it enabled as default?

Is there any drawbacks if so?

Thanks for your answers!

All the best!

I don't know what this is, how do you enable this feature? Is it linux-rt or a CFS specific feature?

Actually it's quite easy... I just have to add "threadirqs" to the kernel boot params

The kernel is already built with threadirqs support... But it's not enabled unless you add the keyword above. For a multimedia oriented kernel I'd find it relevant if it was enabled as default

cheers

This is interesting, but I want to do more testing if I make threadirqs default. I read some of the newest threads on LKML about threadirqs and a few people went unanswered when they reported bugs when enabling this feature.

I'm not too excited to enable a feature that has known bugs and where the developers who own some exclusive knowledge on how the IRQ subsystem works in linux don't respond to feedback.
