dkms vs dmakms

At aptosid they recommended dmakms (possibly their script) over dkms.
I installed VirtualBox non-ose in order to get the extpack, which I did.
However, after upgrading to latest Liquorix kernel, Virtual Box did not recompile, dkms missing.
Installed dkms and ran /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup, it worked.
Lingering question is: why is dmakms superior to dkms?
Or is it?

Another example of why to avoid aptosid and their advice. Who can ever know the real reasons those guys do anything, so much ego and weird thinking in that group.

As usual, nothing they recommend should be considered as correct until it has been verifed independently of them, ie, their views are worthless, could be right, wrong, neutral, but they will never admit error so don't waste your time.

yes, probably so, but there's not a lot left, I remove stuff when I come across it. I was actually waiting to see if siduction became a reality to delete the last functions connected to aptosid.

I tend to remove pieces when I run across them when they relate to some other issue, but I don't like spending much time following those guys further, which is why there's still some ats cruft left in smxi.
