Hi,
sometimes i backup/archive important data onto some MO-disks that are connected via an SCSI-controller.
That was never really a problem before but this time the disks aren' t recognized any more and cannot be mounted (neither automaticly nor manually).
Running fdisk against that device (here sda) doesn't come back and after 5 min I cancelled it with CTL-C.

Syslog says:
:: Code ::
Nov 14 21:34:31 TowerLX kernel: sd 2:0:5:0: [sda] Spinning up disk.......................................
Nov 14 21:35:32 TowerLX udevd[2230]: timeout 'scsi_id --export --whitelisted --device=/dev/sda'
Nov 14 21:35:33 TowerLX udevd[2230]: timeout: killing 'scsi_id --export --whitelisted --device=/dev/sda' [7579]

Its not a speficic disk/medium that causes that problem. I cannot read or write on any of the disks that I used in the past without problems.
I have googled on the problem and found some similar reports on some usb-connected disks and udev. Can it be the same problem?

Working with an CVD/CD Drive on the same scsi-controller works without problems.
