I recently installed the 2.6.39 Liquorix kernel on my LMDE system (old Del Latitude X-1 with a processor which does not support PAE). I notice, though, that the kernel does not appear to include support for automatic process grouping (i.e., the "Wonder Patch").

I was wondering why this was disabled?

Thanks...

Well, I'm not using CFS in Liquorix, but I use the latest version of BFS instead. Changing to BFS is more effective than using cgroups for desktop usage with CFS.

The process grouping is a big deal if you run hundreds of processes per program, enough to skew the fairness of the scheduler. This is very unrealistic though, so I wouldn't worry about it.

You're more likely to be hit by a terrible graphics acceleration bug that makes your desktop crawl when certain actions happen than your desktop have a single task running an insane number of processes.
