There's some extensions to make Gnome 3 somewhat reasonable again: change "activities" back to an "applications" menu, make the favorites appear in the top bar rather than having to switch modes to launch them, make the desktops stable again, and move the time over to the right. Yeah, another desktop that requires forcing to make it usable again. What's up with these guys? first kde, now gnome. KDE 4.7 is creeping back to usability, and is beginning to feel somewhat like an integrated desktop.
