2.6.38-2.dmz.2: synaptics driver fails to load
On upgrading the kernel to 2.6.38-2.dmz.2, xorg began using the evdev driver rather than synaptics with my touchpad (Dell Inspiron N5010). Both 2.6.38-2.dmz.1 and Debian's stock 2.6.38 kernel correctly load the synaptics driver.

After reinstalling Xorg and its dependencies, the problem disappeared.
