Hello!

Is there any possibility to switch

# CONFIG_SCSI_PROC_FS is not set to

CONFIG_SCSI_PROC_FS=y

It's absence affects access to internal CD/DVD drives
under Wine using Adaptec ASPI driver.

This setting is set to "y" on most generic distribution kernels ( i.e. Ubuntu 10.10, Linux Mint 10,
Linux Mint LMDE, Arch Linux (AUR build))

I know it is a "legacy" option, but some Wine stuff still using it
(for example ImgBurn while utilizing Adaptec ASPI dll)

Thanks for the most responsive desktop kernel

Good point, let me update that setting.

I've always thought that WINE just had terrible support for CD-ROMS. Little did I know that it was all my doing.

Thanks a lot for enabling this config setting

I'm not sure if Winecfg could switch between different CD-ROM access libraries though.

But ImgBurn can and Adaptec ASPI is most usable among supported. Anybody who uses program which is able to utilize ASPI under WINE will benefit from enabling that config option.

If i'm not mistaken WINE itself is set to SPTI dll which is default Microsoft dll in ImgBurn as well, but as tricky to use as CD-ROM access under WINE itself.
This I guess just the way it works, on any kernel, with or without that config setting enabled.
