rt2800pci patches
This is sort of tied in with this other thread, but since this doesn't have anything to do with the rt2860 staging driver, I decided to create a separate thread for it.
Due to the troubles I faced with rt2860sta, I decided to try to see if I could get the rt2800pci driver working for my Ralink card, and use that instead. However, while rt2800pci recognizes my card and is able to identify my wireless network, it refuses to connect to it. The problem I'm facing is well-documented in the following Launchpad bug report: bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/659143 I've tested out the latest kernel from maverick-proposed (2.6.35-28.49), which includes a patch for this bug, and I can successfully connect to my wifi network with this particular kernel, and with the rt2800pci kernel module. Connection seems to be as stable as it was with rt2860sta. Unfortunately though, rt2800pci still seems to have the same bug that's affecting me, i.e. when I suspend and resume on battery power, I can't reconnect to any wifi network. On the other hand, I'm no longer forced to use a staging driver for my wifi card to work. Damentz, could you please include these patches for rt2800pci? Thanks! git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/linville/wireless-next-2.6.git;a=commitdiff;h=d76dfc612b40b6a9de0a3fe57fe1fa3db7a1ae3b;hp=a3dc5e881a8a5199bf371fdd4530cfa18280ca83 Back to top |
