[Deb6.0] No more battery discharge estimation with 2.6.36/37
Hi,
First, thanks you for the hard work maintaining Liquorix Kernels. I must admit that i'm pretty impressed with the speed and the reaction of theses. However, since i installed the kernels 2.6.37 (and 36), i don't have any battery discharge time estimation. The percents are showed but not the time left. Also, my laptop hard shutdown at ~10% of battery. This is an annoying point and i don't know how to fix that. Could you tell me what type of informations can i provide to you to help me ? I'm running Debian Squeeze with laptop-mode-tools. Back to top |

Anyone can help me with this ?
uname -a: Linux H-Debian-Portable 2.6.37-0.dmz.6-liquorix-amd64 #1 ZEN SMP PREEMPT Wed Jan 26 01:06:09 CST 2011 x86_64 GNU/Linux ...with fglrx 11.1. Back to top |

Can you test this kernel against something more vanilla, like Debian's trunk kernel?

Sure, but Debian is @ 2.6.32 and everything works as intended.
uname -a: Linux H-Debian-Portable 2.6.32-5-amd64 #1 SMP Wed Jan 12 03:40:32 UTC 2011 x86_64 GNU/Linux I don't think it comes from your kernel, it may be a general kernel regression ! EDIT: After some searchs, i think it comes from an updated thing into the acpi module, so Squeeze may not be compatible with that: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=861460 Anyone has a laptop with Squeeze + 2.6.36/37 ? Some news:
I noticed that, with 2.6.37, acpi -b showed: Battery 0: Discharging, 99%, 01:26:26 remainin So the bug is closed, because it might comes from an outdated gnome library in squeeze. This is not kernel linked. Thanks, EDIT: I don't know how to mark "Solved" on the main title. Back to top |
