I have a Toshiba laptop and would like to be able to use the hotkeys, there is a package in the repos to use them but the standard kernel does not support it.

It might, I wasn't aware that extra kernel support was required to get fN keys working... usually that's _all_ userspace support.

It needs CONFIG_ACPI and CONFIG_ACPI_TOSHIBA

I tried some time back to install fnfxd in Ubuntu based Linux Mint and it failed due to lack of support in the kernel, so I thought I would ask.
