how to capture Boot messages for reviewing at a slower speed
I asked this question before and the answer didnt resolve the question but here we go again.
When you boot up you see various messages saying ok, but some that say fail then there are messages that fly by at mach 10 and those are always the ones you want to know about. Is it possible to have a script that executes on the next boot so it captures this data in a log ? yes, I know dmesg and others give a lot of information but not what you see when you first boot up maybe a high speed camera system is needed. by the way h2 good to see your still hacking and making great utilities, I enjoy visiting and seeing old sidux friends and their comments on their current linux adventures.. Darn, google gave me the answer ... www.cyberciti.biz/faq/debian-ubuntu-record-boot-messages/ Back to top |
Well apparently this bootlogd only works in some distros not all, in particular the one i was testing it doesnt :( archlinux.... perhaps someone in their group will eventually address the concerns of myself and others...
Now i know why this is a good place to pose this type of random question :) bugs.archlinux.org/task/18047 Back to top |
