Can a mod please move
I had intended to post this in the sgfxi bug reporting thread.
Would a moderator be so kind as to move into that thread? Thanks, damacas Back to top |
First, the command cannot be run in X, that is, you cannot create an xorg.conf file in X, X will not permit it.
I'm going to assume that is the source of the error, barring further details. I should actually add logging in there to show if X is running or not, would make debugging failures easier, since that's the number one reason the X -configure command would fail. Back to top |
X did shut down
Yes, I got the error, then shut down x and re-ran as root.

ok, the only bug there, and I would say it's a slight bug, is that sgfxi didn't give you better information on the failure.
I'll just add an extra bit of information to the error message: if x is running then... print out information telling user to shut down x. Back to top |
