Fonts are huge on smxi
Hello
Is their a way to change the font sizes in smxi ? I am using smxi on Epidemic 3.1 and the fonts are huge. Compared to what the font sizes are on sidux running smxi. I am constantly scroll back up the page to read what is going on. I have searched around and the only thing I can find is how to change fonts colors. I might have missed something in my searches. You're looking at console fonts, console isn't the same as guis where you can randomly change font sizes.
Console fonts are with grub 1 set using the vga=<correct number, like 791 for 1024x768> argument in the kopt and the kernel boot lines. It's a bit more of a pain in grub2, I documented it. Back to top |
Hi techAdmin
Thanks for a quick reply. I was hoping I could make a simple and fast adjustment to a smxi config file and be done with it. I will have to just live with the huge fonts. I would rather have to big of fonts then to small of fonts. smxi is so awesome. Back to top |
no, you have to set your console fonts, smxi doesn't use anything, nor can it, console doesn't support such features as font siziing, you have to set the overall console font size using something like menu.lst or the new grub2 gunk, short how to here: techpatterns.com/forums/about1517.html
grub 1 is easy, you simpy use the vga= kernel boot parameter and there you go. Back to top |
Hmm, you can also set the console font by doing
dpkg-reconfigure console-setup in Squeeze/Sid. Back to top |
