I am going to finally buy a replacement laptop.

Want to know what you recommend in the $400 to $500 range.
New, slightly used, eBay, whatever.

What have you gotten lately that you really recommend?

HPs in the lower price ranges if you want new/slightly used. It's hit and miss though with outsourced production, you just never know anymore, but people who have gotten the wide screen HPs for not too much money have done alright with them, they seem to not die.
