Hello:
I had to reinstall liquorix 8 in an old Dell laptop (Inspiron 7500) running Antix. This box was previously running liquorix 9 without any problem.

I used smxi to install the liquorix kernel and kept running into problems, such as looping during boot and freezing. Tried reinstalling 3 times and it still did not work.

Then from a mepis kernel (in Antix), I installed liquorix from synaptic and it booted up fine. I'm glad it's working now, but I'm wondering what's going on. Maybe I did something wrong during smxi install?

It is possible that the ramdisk was not created correctly when you rolled back to a previous kernel.
