Debian Sid/Testing gfxboot
I have a rough working version of grub-gfxboot install for debian in smxi now.
This is basically how it works: go to miscellaneous tweaks -> install-graphics -> grub-graphics-options. If you are using Debian Sid or Testing, it will check to see if you have the package grub-gfxboot installed. If not, it will add temporary sources for sidux, then use apt to install it, then remove the sources. Then it will check your /boot/grub/menu.lst for the gfxboot part, if it's missing it will add it, and download a first version, the default message.debian file. Then you can also pick another one if you want, I like (of course... message.debian.smxi - screenshot), but the plain Debian one looks pretty much the same, minus the smxi text, and the new debian.sidux one is similar, except for having a red sidux under the Debian. This is somewhat experimental, and I'm still not sure about how upgrades will be handled by apt without the sources installed, but we'll see how it goes. By the way, once Lenny goes stable, this should work for a while in Lenny too, so install it sooner than later once that happens, then your stable will have a nice graphic grub screen too. Nice touch, I like the one with smxi.
