Is this an Opera 7.5 overflow:auto / bottom: position bug?
Recently, I discovered what appears to be a new bug in Opera 7.5. This bug was not present in earlier versions of the 7 series.
It seems to activate when there is a bottom positioned div in a div with overflow:auto set, even if the div has plenty of room. You can see this if you go to the main tech site, just look at the left bar with Opera 7.5 and there is the overflow scrollbar even though there is no reason for the scroll to be active. [added: this site has since been rebuilt, and that particular bug is no longer present in the current configuration. techAdmin, 7-21-04] Come ON you Opera programmers and testers, get your sh#t together please!!!! Test your stuff on complex code, Mozilla does it, why can't you? This site gets visits from alpha testers from mozilla, why don't you start too? The html and css is zero error, or should be, so don't blame it on CSS errors. If this is a css error, and you can figure it out, let me know, but this display works perfectly on almost all modern browsers in existence, except for the new Opera 7.5. This CSS bug cr#p is getting ridiculous, as are the accelerated releases of the non IE browser makers. We need some predictability in this browser market, is that too much to ask? Back to top |
