@eriefisher
Thanks much appreciated. Nice to know your having success with the liquorix kernel with this setup also.

@anticapitalista
Thanks for the link and info, will be checking it out soon. One of my only problems with Mepis is the way is handles X, this info helps.

Posted: Jul 16, 09, 5:11    antiX-M8.2-base to Debian Testing how to.
If anyone wants to try this then start with antiX-M8.2-base-prefinal.iso here:

www.mepisimo.com/antix/Test%20releases/

1. Install antiX-base.
2. Fix up grub.
#update-grub
Edit /boot/grub/menu.lst to make it like Debian's.
3. Install Debian or liquorix kernel via smxi.
4. Check /boot/grub/menu.lst has correct entry for new kernel
Also check /boot/grub/device.map uses sda and not hda (for liquorix kernel)
Check /etc/fstab uses sda and not hda (or use UUID)
5. Reboot into liquorix or Debian kernel.
6. Remove MEPIS/antiX stuff
#apt-get purge mepis*
#apt-get autoremove
7. Re-edit /boot/grub/menu.lst to remove antiX entry, comment out # gfxmenu /boot/grub/message
#update-grub
8. Comment out MEPIS repo in /etc/apt/sources.list
9. Remove MEPIS entry in /etc/apt/preferences.

That should be it. You may find that you need to manually remove some MEPIS folders in /usr/share and /lib/modules/..mepis

10. You may wish to reconfigure your /etc/X11/xorg.conf

wiki.debian.org/XStrikeForce/InputHotplugGuide

Have fun.
