two suggestions/questions from me, if i may.
as all the weather lines start the same for basic or with additional -x to it. can't one of the weather words be removed from the line?
also if the weather option detects where i am or the server is, isn't it a way to make it use the unit of measure for the country, like metric and Celsius (as primary) in my case?
thanks again for your hard work.

weather options are going to be readjusted when I have time, which I don't have now, but I'll certainly take your suggestion re optimizing space in the lines with -x, -xx, and -xxx, that part wasn't thought out that well though on my particular weather output it looks fine, of course, heh.

I'm not going to mess with any attempt to customize outputs, that's too hard to do and maintain, and there's zero guarantee that this particular api is even going to be available in the future so I won't get into too much customization.

However, the current data does support adding some units re customization, but it's not nearly as easy as what I did. Also, some units, like wind speed, do not come in metric at all. That's why I chose the easy path and just show the f/c degrees in one string.

But those will be reordered once it has sat for a bit to percolate a bit.

1.9.7: changed the somewhat awkward -! location=.... to -W <location>

-W automatically triggers -w, and the same -x options apply, except for time zone, which is not available data for remote.

Added in some error handling as well for the input and options.

Hello techAdmin

I've tried all the functions separately on openSUSE and all seem to function without error except for this one. (Well, almost all. I stopped at Extra Data Options going down the man page.)

openSUSE64kdeFX:/home/GoinEasy9 # inxi -r
Repos: Error: inxi does not support this feature for your distro yet.

Is that because you need to know that the repos are kept in /etc/zypp/repos.d ?

If there's any other info you need, let me know.

BTW - Heh, even the new -W feature works.

there is no suse support because nobody from suse has ever shown me the actual contents of the repo files, the locations, the optional locations, the default locations, etc.

I've never seen, that is, a suse repo file.

yum_repo_dir='/etc/yum.repos.d/' yum_conf='/etc/yum.conf'

if it's like yum, then I need to see all the contents of all the files in the two items.

ls of the repo directory, etc so I can see what the actual file names are.

and so on.

If it's the same as yum I can add it to the yum section, if it's not, I have to make a new section

Well, the repos are in the /etc/zypp/repos.d folder. Seems openSUSE decided to bury their repos.d in the zypp folder. This is the listing of /etc/zypp/repos.d:

:: Code ::
openSUSE64kdeFX:/etc/zypp/repos.d # dir
total 80
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 146 Jun 14 16:36 google-chrome.repo
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 143 Jun 14 16:36 google-earth.repo
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 166 Jun 14 16:36 KDE_extra.repo
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 164 Jun 14 16:36 KDE_new.repo
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 189 Jun 14 16:36 openSUSE-12.3-1.7.repo
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 195 Jun 14 16:36 openSUSE_Current_non-oss.repo
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 183 Jun 14 16:36 openSUSE_Current_oss.repo
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 176 Jun 14 16:36 openSUSE_Current_updates.repo
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 155 Jun 14 16:36 opensuse-guide.org-repo.repo
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 201 Jun 14 16:36 openSUSE_non-oss_Current_updates.repo
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 186 Jun 14 16:36 openSUSE_Tumbleweed.repo
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 160 Jun 14 16:36 Packman_Tumbleweed.repo
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 165 Jun 14 16:36 repo-debug.repo
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 188 Jun 14 16:36 repo-debug-update-non-oss.repo
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 164 Jun 14 16:36 repo-debug-update.repo
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 168 Jun 14 16:36 repo-non-oss.repo
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 156 Jun 14 16:36 repo-oss.repo
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 168 Jun 14 16:36 repo-source.repo
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 172 Jun 14 16:36 repo-update-non-oss.repo
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 148 Jun 14 16:36 repo-update.repo

All the repositories that start with "repo-" are disabled, and, I just saw them for the first time making this listing. I'm still learning the differences betweeen openSUSE and Fedora.

The contents of the openSUSE_Tumbleweed.repo are:

:: Code ::
[openSUSE_Tumbleweed]
name=openSUSE Tumbleweed
enabled=1
autorefresh=1
baseurl=http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:/Tumbleweed/standard/
path=/
type=rpm-md
keeppackages=0

Which is a bit different than the way Fedora handles it:

:: Code ::
[fedora]
name=Fedora $releasever - $basearch
failovermethod=priority
#baseurl=http://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/releases/$releasever/Everything/$basearch/os/
mirrorlist=https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=fedora-$releasever&arch=$basearch
enabled=1
metadata_expire=7d
gpgcheck=1
gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-fedora-$basearch

[fedora-debuginfo]
name=Fedora $releasever - $basearch - Debug
failovermethod=priority
#baseurl=http://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/releases/$releasever/Everything/$basearch/debug/
mirrorlist=https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=fedora-debug-$releasever&arch=$basearch
enabled=0
metadata_expire=7d
gpgcheck=1
gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-fedora-$basearch

[fedora-source]
name=Fedora $releasever - Source
failovermethod=priority
#baseurl=http://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/releases/$releasever/Everything/source/SRPMS/
mirrorlist=https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=fedora-source-$releasever&arch=$basearch
enabled=0
metadata_expire=7d
gpgcheck=1
gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-fedora-$basearch

I guess openSUSE saw an advantage to separating the debug and source repos, instead of including them in one repo like Fedora. What the advantage would be is lost on me, but, I bet there's a openSUSE geek somewhere that could explain it in detail ... in 5 part harmony and with feeling.

I think Fedora designed their repos for use with abrt, their bug reporting system. It's probably easier for the routine to enable debug easier when automatically reporting a bug if the boolean is in the same repo file, than searching for it in the folder. But, that's just a guess.

Keys and metadata for the repos are kept in /var/cache/zypp/raw/. So far, that's all I've found.

I'm using openSUSE as a replacement for Fedora as my rpm distro, and, Tumbleweed because it's rolling. It also installs easily onto this UEFI motherboard. So, if you need testing, I'll be able to do that.

BTW - The contents of the other openSUSE repo files are the same as the one I posted. If you want to see more examples, let me know.

So, did I miss anything? If I did, ask away.

please update inxi: inxi -! 11

this will update to branch/one inxi, and it should work now for zypp repos.

Post the output of inxi -rI
after updating.

Because the syntax for the files is the same, adding zypp support is easy, but we need to confirm it actually works before I add this to the trunk inxi.

I also ran the commands as root with the same result.

-r eye, upper case i , ie -rI

that lets me see that you are running the actual inxi version.

I'll check the spelling, otherwise I see nothing that should have made it not work.

check to make sure inxi updates, etc.

maybe I made a typo, don't know, but it should work.
