There is an overview and tutorial of Inkscape SVG here. Unlike the Gimp, which is a bitmap raster graphics processor, Inkscape acts more like Photoshop [in vector graphic modes] or Illustrator.
:: Quote :: Inkscape is also an open source vector graphics editor that uses the SVG (scalable vector graphics) file format. This is neat because SVG is an evolving standard based on XML that can be massaged via programs, scripts or a simple text editor. For apt installation: :: Code :: apt-get install gimp
apt-get install inkscape |
