Lately I've seen that liquorix.net/debian/dists/sid/past is apparently empty,I noticed while searching for the 3.13-11.dmz.3-liquorix-amd64 kernel which I have on another installation and couldn't find it.
Is it currently undergoing some maintenance?

Sorry, it was an oversight. I just finished uploading the last 3.15 kernel builds.

You should try this version instead if you're looking for something older. 3.15 was the first kernel release to proper list balancing for inode and dentry cache: kernelnewbies.org/Linux_3.15#head-dbe2430cd9e5ed1d3f2362367758cd490aba4b9d

Thanks a lot,no need for apologies at all ;)

I figured out it had to be because of some changes-we'll see how this 3.15 kernel plays with ATI drivers and Mint.
I can foresee another struggle coming...

Well,it will be harder then I expected to install the 3.15 kernel in Mint13:when simulating a dist-upgrade,apt won't pull linux-image-liquorix-amd64,although the linux-image-3.15-10.dmz.2-liquorix-amd64 package and linux-image-liquorix-amd64 metapackage are found with apt-cache search.

If trying to simulate a manual install, here's what happens
:: Code ::
apt-get -s install linux-image-liquorix-amd64
(...)
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
linux-image-liquorix-amd64 : Depends: linux-image-3.15-10.dmz.2-liquorix-amd64 (= 3.15-9) but it is not going to be installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

apt-get -s install linux-image-3.15-10.dmz.2-liquorix-amd64
(...)
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
linux-image-3.15-10.dmz.2-liquorix-amd64 : Depends: kmod but it is not installable
Recommends: firmware-linux-free (>= 3~) but it is not installable
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

As far as I can see, there is no kmod package at all in the repo, whilst I have an half-installed linux-firmware package that needs updating (I did put it on hold a while ago suspecting some issues).

Is it the case that this 3.15 kernel is not installable on this system,or can you see a way around this?

Mint is broken by design, so someone packaging for debian / ubuntu cannot be expected to also debug mint packaging problems.

If the installation problem can be duplicated on either ubuntu or debian, and if it's not related to package versions in a frozen pool, the issue might be real, but with mint's model no issues can actually debugged, I know I totally gave up with sgfxi and mint myself, while I do not exclude mint explicitly, neither will I spend any of my time debugging mint issues. I can't speak for damentz and liquorix, but when I see this type of mint packaging failure, I just shrug and sigh.

Here's what it looks like on debian:

:: Code ::
apt-cache show linux-image-liquorix-686
....
Depends: linux-image-3.16-3.dmz.1-liquorix-686 (= 3.16-3)

# then see what the kernel has as dependencies
apt-cache show linux-image-3.16-3.dmz.1
....
Depends: kmod, bc, initramfs-tools | linux-initramfs-tool

#Then:
apt-cache policy kmod
kmod:
  Installed: 18-3
  Candidate: 18-3
  Version table:
 *** 18-3 0
        500 http://mirrors.kernel.org/debian/ unstable/main i386 Packages
        200 http://mirrors.kernel.org/debian/ testing/main i386 Packages

I just recently a few days ago installed both 3.15 and 3.16 and both installed fine, because the debian package pool is not broken..

Your messages are about your Mint system being broken, not liquorix.

Please try again, the liquorix kernel package has been updated (resynced with siduction's kernel package). The dependencies have been changed as well, you should be able to install it. If not, you need to sync forward with Debian Testing _at least_, which is the repo that Liquorix is built with.

Thank you very much,I'm going to try this again and see how it goes.

On a side note, regarding Mint being broken by design, yes I would generally have to agree:in this particular case, however, the required kmod dependency just isn't there, not even in Ubuntu 12.04 which this Mint version is based on.Maybe it's just a case of oldish LTS releases, still "supported" but not really up to scratch.
Not that newer releases aren't coming with their share of issues:on some fresh installations Ubuntu 14.04 doesn't even boot,BTW.

I know the Liquorix works with at least Ubuntu 14.04 - I use it in a VM and it boots just fine without rebuilding.

As for kmod not existing, kmod is new and replaces module-init-tools. If you don't have kmod, your distribution is too old and will probably break for other reasons if Liquorix is installed.

initramfs-tools is already the newest version.
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
 linux-image-3.16-5.dmz.1-liquorix-amd64 : Breaks: udev (< 204-13~)
                                           Breaks: udev:i386 (< 204-13~)

Because of this:

Breaks: udev (<< 204-13~)

Unpacking the image.deb archive, modifying the control file and the aforementioned line to Breaks: udev (<< 204-4), then repacking the archive enables normal installation.

The kernel still works normally under Ubuntu 14.04.1.

Just tried again, apparently this distro is just too old to keep up:trying to install linux-image-3.15-10.dmz.3-liquorix-amd64 ends up with the same missing kmod dependency.
It looks like 3.13-11.dmz.3-liquorix-amd64 was the last installable kernel in Mint13.
Since I have a test installation with that kernel,do you think I can lift the kernel packages from its /var/cache/apt/archives for the time being?
