Hi h2,

Yesterday (15 July 09) I did a smxi upgrade on a Debian Sid i386 laptop.

A new xorg was in the upgrade & during the process smxi reinstalled parts of xorg after the new xorg was installed. At least I think it was smxi?

If I'm wrong than the rest of this is void I guess.

Anyways, after a reboot back into X had no keyboard? Had a mouse though.

Easy fix with a log out of X & into a console & apt-get install xserver-xorg-input-kbd.

Unfortunately I was not paying enough attention to the smxi process & cannot remember the exact xorg bits smxi reinstalled but I do remember the mouse being reinstalled.

If it was smxi that reinstalled the mouse after an xorg upgrade can I suggest that the keyboard be added to be reinstalled.

Thanks,

straykat

I'll check that, there is a one time fix for xorg that restores the kbd or mouse, I'll check it.
