dear techadmin,

How can I install google earth by smxi ? I've heard there is a problem to install google earth because debian error but I can't see any warning anymore inside smxi:

quotation:

"@siduxbox:~$ googleearth
[: 12: unexpected operator
/usr/lib/googleearth/googleearth-bin: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/googleearth/libssl.so.0.9.8: undefined symbol: EVP_idea_cbc
@siduxbox:~$"

I tried to install by using the apt-get but It failed as you can see down there below:

"root@siduxbox:/home/carlos# apt-get install googleearth
Lendo listas de pacotes... Pronto
Construindo árvore de dependências
Lendo informação de estado... Pronto
O pacote googleearth não está disponível, mas é referenciado por outro pacote.
Isto pode significar que o pacote está faltando, ficou obsoleto ou
está disponível somente a partir de outra fonte
E: O pacote googleearth não tem candidato para instalação
root@siduxbox:/home/#"

fyi I attached up there the system information that the package is not availabe at apt-get.

Can you help me out. How do I solve it up this error ? I appreciate your helpful hints.
Best Regards.

is this 32 bit or 64 bit? 64 bit ia32libs are broken, which I have to admit makes me laugh. Hint: 32 bit for production desktop, 64 bit for server, if and only if you don't need 32 bit tools.

Hi, techadmin!

It's an old 32 bits Athlon XP 2400. I think the googleearth won't run ! Best regards.

I don't know, the debian package builder for googleearth was broken for a while, then it worked.

But I don't retest this stuff very often, I just install googleearth then leave it alone except for an occasional upgrade.

It could be kernel related, I really don't know, or something else.
