Please use the "mr.precise" patch to address the performance drop in the Liquorix 7.xx kernel for AMD Radeon GPUs.
I tried using the Liquorix kernel (versions 7.1.xx and 7.2.xx) and experienced a drop in 3D gaming performance in Lutris. The OS I am using is Sparky Linux KDE Plasma (semi-rolling/Debian Testing). My laptop specs: AMD Ryzen 3 (4th Gen), AMD Vega iGPU, 8GB RAM, 500GB SSD. I then switched to the custom "Mr. Precise" kernel (version 7.1.xx) designed for older AMD Radeon GPUs; it runs smoothly and is extremely stable for gaming on my older AMD Radeon iGPU. Please incorporate this "Mr. Precise" patch into the Liquorix kernel so that gaming performance on older AMD GPUs/iGPUs becomes good and stable. Thanks. https://github.com/Mr-Precise/linux-kernel-with-amdgpu-bin Back to top |

I'm not really seeing what this repo is about, there's no code. All it claims to do is:
1. Use staging / next DRM code for AMD GPUs 2. Bundle latest firmware (distro responsibility?) 3. Bundle latest Mesa (not kernel related?) 4. Disable CPU mitigations (big no on distributed kernels) Honestly, I think you'd be better served moving to an Arch based distribution as you'll get the majority of the above for free. As for staging/next code, that has to be battle tested and as it's very normal to regress through these untested updates. Back to top |
