Hi,

unfortunately the boot problem I previously had with Liquorix 7.2.3-3 seems to be back with the new 7.2.4-4 kernel.

The affected kernel is:

Linux version 7.2.4-4-liquorix-amd64
#1 ZEN SMP PREEMPT liquorix 7.2-10ubuntu1~resolute
Build date: 2026-09-10

System:

Kubuntu 26.04 / Resolute
CPU: Intel Xeon E5-2666 v3
Mainboard: Fujitsu D3348-B1
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3050
NVIDIA driver: 610.57.04 Open Kernel Module

The problem is very similar to the previous regression with 7.2.3-3.

My previous situation was:

7.2.3-2 -> works
7.2.3-3 -> boot / black screen problem
7.2.3-4 -> works again

Now the same type of problem has appeared again with:

7.2.4-4 -> black screen / unusable graphical boot

Rolling back to the previous Liquorix kernel restores normal operation.
The journal from the failed 7.2.4-4 boot shows that the kernel itself continues booting quite far.

NVIDIA 610.57.04 is loaded successfully:
NVRM: loading NVIDIA UNIX Open Kernel Module for x86_64 610.57.04
The NVIDIA DRM driver is also initialized:

[drm] [nvidia-drm] [GPU ID 0x00000300] Loading driver
[drm] Initialized nvidia-drm 0.0.0 for 0000:03:00.0 on minor 0
fbcon: nvidia-drmdrmfb (fb0) is primary device
nvidia 0000:03:00.0: [drm] fb0: nvidia-drmdrmfb frame buffer device

The system continues booting afterwards. Network initialization succeeds and even my CIFS mount is started:

igb 0000:09:00.0 enp9s0: igb: enp9s0 NIC Link is Up 1000 Mbps Full Duplex
CIFS: Attempting to mount //truenas/media

I do not see a kernel panic, Oops or NVIDIA Xid error in the journal.

The failed boot was:

Sep 11 17:48:03 - Sep 11 17:50:15
Kernel: 7.2.4-4-liquorix-amd64

So the machine appears to continue booting internally, but the graphical output becomes unusable / remains black.
This looks very similar to the regression that appeared in 7.2.3-3 and was subsequently fixed in 7.2.3-4.
I can provide the complete kernel journal from the failed 7.2.4-4 boot if required.

How about the latest kernel, currently 7.2.6-1?
