If you need the HTML character codes, here's a good page. Here's another one. That one is more organized, into categories. Here's an XHTML focused one.

It has most of the major ones you'll ever need, from long dashes to yen symbols.

Includes both the text version, like & and the numeric version, &# 38;

These are handy versions, easier to read than the W3C's character entity reference page, which isn't all that user friendly.

Make sure you test browser support for the more obscure ones though, if a browser doesn't support somthing, all you will see is a square or a question mark, looks odd.
