I want to split this post from above post while I await your replies

this section only looks at your image for AUTO-MUTE

IMHO this means that if you insert your headphones it automatically (if enabled) mutes your speaker jack

altho it might be safe to leave disabled it may to have be enabled for us to trouble-shoot if we get nowhere with defining your model=string

using 3.1.1 kernel, the sound and conky issues are gone. the only impediment is that in the new drivers, they split up the speakers and headphones volumes. thanks everyone for your help. and if someone could mark the topic as solved i would really appreciate it.
