Posted: Feb 18, 11, 5:19    install drivers for ATI mobility radeon HD 4250?
Hello,
I'm testing out a refurbed laptop that has the above mentioned integrated gpu. The OS I wish to use is antiX. Is this possible using sgfxi? From what I gather, I would use:

sgfxi -N radeonhd

Is this correct?

Thanks,
Dave

radeonhd is being deprecated, I need to update sgfxi/smxi to remove that option, but if a package is gone, sgfxi will exit with error anyway.

sgfxi -N radeon

should cover all cards now.

Thank you techAdmin. I need to do a bit more reading. I hear that the Fglrx driver is well ...bad.

It is possible to go back to Mesa isn't it?

Thanks.
Used plain"sgfxi" to install the fglrx driver. Fglrx didn't work to my liking.

I was able to switch back to the open source driver using
sgfxi -N radeon

as you said.

All is well.
