There's a very nice article on DVD archival media. Good overview, and I agree with his conclusions, as well as finally having learned the difference between dvd + and -, (+ is what you use for serious data, more reilable).

However, don't be fooled, this isn't about only archival quality, this is for ALL cd and dvd blanks, period. Taiyo Yuden is the way to go, and has been for years.

Also agree with his recommendation of SuperMediatStore.com for buying Taiyo Yuden disks, the only dvd blanks you can fully trust. See his link to CD Freaks Taiyo Yuden FAQ to learn more, but just do it, nobody else can be trusted anymore, it's all being outsourced to who knows where.

This view has been confirmed over and over by those who know such things, so you can trust this advice.

I don't make any claims to knowing about that stuff, but I just bought another batch of 1000 Taiyo Yuden dvd's and cd's for work. I can vouch for both Taiyo Yuden and supermediastore.com.

I can also give a +1 to the supermediastore. Always been reliable for me.
