Posted: Jan 14, 10, 4:42    upgrade to kernel 2.6.32-3.slh.2-sidux-amd64
Hi all,

I'm not an expert user.

My sidux version is : sidux 2009-01 Ουρανός - kde-lite - (200902151304)

During sidux upgrade some errors occured :
- libxml2 no file installed
- files list file for package libffi5
- /usr/dpkg returned an error code (2)
- dist-upgrade Error number (100)

I need to install new kernel to have compatibility with video card drivers.

I installed 2.6.32-3.slh.2-sidux-amd64 kernel version. Script smxi told me
INSTALL COMPLETE but when I reboot I can't find its between my available
kernels.
I saw that old working kernels files are in /boot/ directory while the new one
is only in /usr/src/kernel-downloads/ :
2.6.32-3.slh.2-sidux-amd64/linux-headers-2.6.32-3.slh.2-sidux-amd64_2.6.32-21_amd64.deb.

Can you help me?

Thanks
John

You had an apt upgrade error, you can't continue until that is resolved.

If you did continue, then nothing else will work until you fix the actual error.

Do: apt-get update
then: apt-get install -f
and see what the actual errors are, then fix them, then you can proceed.
