player version 2.5.1

I went so far as to completely uninstall/purge vmware, so that when installing via svmi, it redownloaded the .bundle file. Still no go. Installed fine - no errors - and when launched, again the module updater ran, with no reported errors. VMware Player just wont launch.

Solved. Install the package shared-mime-info and VMware Player starts/runs as it should.

excellent, thanks.

I'll add a preinstall test for shared-mime-info in svmi and install that if it's missing and available.

<That test is now added to svmi, thanks. If missing, will install the package prior to installing vmplayer>
