There's an nvidia alert to remove 195.xxxx drivers from systems that have nvidia cards with fans.

The power control thing apparently is bad, and may overheat your gpu. If you don't use a gpu fan, ie, fanless, this shouldn't affect you.

sgfxi is updated to remove the 195.xx series drivers now.

nvidia is removing those drivers from their servers as I type so there's no point in keeping them as options.

The download syntax is random, and it's in a zip file, as usual with ATI stuff they can't do it simply and consistently, and can't easily be integrated cleanly into sgfxi, and I'm not going to do manual tracking of the strings as they change month to month, so this will be a feature for people who want to download and extract the driver themselves, won't be in sgfxi, but thanks for the alert anyway.

Added in detection of nvidia / fglrx entries in dmakms gunk, now if present, will comment them out when using sgfxi to install drivers.

This might explain a few failure cases among users of distros that use these methods.

New nvidia: 195.36.24

This one features official support for xorg 1.8. What's that you say, fglrx still doesn't support xorg 1.7, except in beta release for Ubuntu? Well, then, I guess you know which card to buy next time you need fully operational video card support.

fglrx 10-4 also debugged, patches are used now for 2.6.33 and possibly working also 2.6.34 but I haven't tested that personally.

Xorg 1.7 + 2.6.33 is working now however. Thanks to the person who reported the failure and bug here, since don't really use fglrx except for testing, I rely on bug reports to let me know if it's working.
