svmi updated for vbox non ose 3.0.12, thanks.
To repeat, svmi cannot add vmware 3.x downloads because the download requires a login. |

After updating to 3.1, I couldn't run 64 bit guests. kvm was being competed for (although this wasn't an issue on 3.0.12) and modprobe -r kvm_amd worked here

Remember, in svmi you can always roll back:
svmi -V 3.0.12 should install the older version, though there is some risk with the images not matching, but it's not a big risk I think. |

Thanks for the tip - I've found silly issues like this with each major upgrade - some can take a few days to 'solve' so it's nice to be able to get back instantly if workflow demands

yes, vbox has been very bad with quality and testing control.
That's why svmi always offers the last version of the last major version, just check after: svmi -U then: svmi -h to see what's available. |

Wasn't in because nobody told me it was available, you just did, so now it's in svmi. I don't follow vm stuff very closely, I depend on user updates, I don't personally update my vm stuff very often.
The nvidia graphics drivers stuff is all automated and alerts me when it updates so I know to update the scripts but that's because it changes a lot, or sometimes doesn't change much for a while, so I need some notice to keep up. |
